These last months God has overwhelmed us with His unexpected provision. We both were speechless by how He provided for us. We got to travel some the last 2 months. We went to Bangkok to see my mentor. It had been a long time, and I missed her! We had our last bit of money in our pocket. I was kind of worried. I didn’t even want to go because living expenses are higher in Bangkok. I didn’t want to use up our last bit of money, but I knew in my heart we should go to see her.
I had been praying to God and telling Him about my worries. I told him that He owns everything; all the treasures and wealth here on earth. I prayed that He would continue to provided for our family, whether from translation work or anything. I just told Him, “God, you are our dad, please don’t let us starve.” Out of the blue, Chris read me some verses that he had read earlier that same day:
The Lord makes firm the steps
of the one who delights in him;
though he may stumble, he will not fall,
for the Lord upholds him with his hand.
I was young and now I am old,
yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken
or their children begging bread.
They are always generous and lend freely;
their children will be a blessing.
We just went to Bangkok by faith!
Sure enough, my mentor handed me a envelope and said, “It’s our daddy’s money!”
I don’t even know what to say…She blessed us with 2 months of living expenses!!!
Later, we found out about the US visa interview appointment. I called my family informing them of the great news. My mom said she had decided to give almost half of the dowry back to us. WOW!
God has been above and beyond FAITHFUL to us. I am sometimes doubtful, afraid and have no faith in Him, but He gave me a strong, wonderful leader who loves God’s word-reading and reminding me about His promises.
God proves Himself faithful and ENOUGH for us in every circumstance He is good! We can lean on Him and count on Him. I am humbled by how gracious and loving He is towards our family.
He provides and feeds us like His little birds. He surely loves us WAY more than birds!
